Mauritius Aquarium Ile Maurice

The Mauritius Aquarium welcomes you to a unique experience of relaxation and discovery!
Situated on the North West of Mauritius, in the charming small village of Pointe Aux Piments, the Mauritius Aquarium offers a unique experience. A leisurely stroll through the five well laid out principal buildings surrounded by a tropical garden, allows its visitors to discover the rich aquatic life which inhabits the coastal and pelagic waters of Mauritius.
The various species of marine life are grouped in well-lit tanks and pools which makes it possible to observe, at eye-level, the endless ballet enacted by our island surrounding eco-system. A truly fantastic and enchanting sight.
The aquarium is home to a large number of species, including the Crown squirrelfish and the Batfish as well as clownfish,  butterfly fish, lobsters and crabs, to name but a few.  An added attraction offered by the Mauritius Aquarium is the possibility of witnessing the feeding sessions which take place daily at 11:00 am and 15:00 pm. It is not every day that one sees, Giant Morays sharks and sea turtles, within arm’s reach, being fed by hand.
The Aquarium has adopted an ecologically-friendly system, known as a closed system, which involves the treatment and recycling of the seawater in the circuit linking the tanks, thus minimizing the environmental impact of the installation and its operation.

The complex includes the refreshing ‘Coral Café’, and a well-appointed Gift Shop, all of which contributes to making a visit to the Mauritius Aquarium, not only a most pleasant and relaxing experience, but also a unique one.

All in all, an occasion to remember.

The opening hours of the Mauritius Aquarium are:

Monday to Saturday               9:30am to 5:00pm
Sundays & Public holidays   10.00am to 4:00pm.
